Wedding Ceremonies at Cowan Historic Mill
Built in the late 1800s, the Cowan Historic Mill is a wedding venue in Acworth, GA nestled right in the middle of a thriving downtown scene. Built directly into a landmark building, Cowan Historic Mill has been a tapestry mill, a flour mill, and a number of different restaurants. In it’s current form, it’s a beautiful, rustic wedding setting where couples come to say ‘I do’ and dance the night away.
Acworth, Georgia does has a significant history in relation to mills. The area was once home to several water-powered mills that played a crucial role in the local economy during the 19th century. These mills were primarily involved in processing grains, such as corn and wheat, into flour and meal, utilizing the power of the nearby creeks and rivers to operate their machinery.
The Mill is one of Acworth’s oldest surviving commercial buildings and has stayed true to its industrial aesthetics. It’s exposed beams, massive chandelier, and ornate brickwork create an atmosphere that is both regal and welcoming. Because of its ‘raw’ design, couples hosting a wedding ceremony and reception here can take full creative control of how the space is arranged. The staff and owners provide top notch service, making this unique, industrial-style wedding venue one of the best in the area.
If you’re planning to have your wedding here, it’s worth noting that the Cowan Historic Mill has a maximum capacity of 190 people. For ceremonies, the Mill offers a covered terrace that feels simultaneously spacious and intimate; and the indoor ballroom can be setup for a ceremony and then quickly flipped for a reception. From an acoustic standpoint, I can provide mics and music that will ensure your guests can hear every portion of the ceremony, even if a train happens to pass by.
